REFEREE  INSTRUCTIONS                                     1) Please try to schedule your games earlier in the week if possible.   2) Game cards should have a LEGIBLE printed name so that we can tell who refereed a game. You do not need to sign the card. 3) Game cards must be turned in at each location after the game so that Division Coordinators can pick them up. There is a spot at each site so if you     don't know, ask another ref. Do not throw away cards if you accidently take them home. Just turn them in the next week. 4) If you take a game you were not scheduled for or miss a game please make changes on the scheduling site to accurately reflect the games you did. 5) Do not cancel games that you refereed after the weekend. They will continue to be shown throughout the season but that is how we track games. 6) if an Administrator enters a game for you, you will see a blue question mark by that game.     Please click the green plus sign to confirm it the next time you are on the site.  7)To make viewing the games easier, use the boxes that say "date range" to limit the games shown. For example to see the games for September 17th     enter 9/17 in both boxes. At half time.  May substitute for an injury. Free Subs Free Subs 3/4 rule- All players shall play a minimum of 3/4 of every game (if numbers allow).  No one plays the whole game unless everyone else plays 3/4.   Half time Break - 5 minutes for all divisions. Not included as part of game duration. Gentleman's/women's agreement- If the opponents team is short of players, play no more than 1 player more than the short team. If team is short due to a a player or players being sent off during the course of the current game you need not adjust your team numbers. Slaughter Rule- No more than a five goal differential. This rule still applies for U8's even though scores and standings are not permanently recorded. Goal Keeper Rule (except U16/19)- Goal Keeper shall play at least one quarter of every game on the field in a position other than goal keeper. Ties - All regular games may end in a tie. No overtime, coin flip, "Kicks from the Mark" or any other tie breaker will be used to break the tie. PIE- Positive, Instruction, Encouragement shall be practiced by all Coaches in all divisions.  Misc. Safety - Do not allow anyone to swing or hang from the goals. Shinguards are required at all games and practices & must be completely covered by socks. *U7 - No corner/goal kicks. The team who did not last touch the ball will kick the ball back into play from the point on the goal line where the ball went out. U14/16/19 - 3/4 rule shall follow U14/16/19 teams who are playing away games in other cities. Goal keeper rule shall follow U14 teams.
